Here is a nice band saw project I came up with a while ago and I have made many of them for friends and relatives.

You need a fairly thick piece of wood to start with (at least 2 inches) but using the bottom off cut for the second smaller set of tongs was a happy accident that became part of the plan in hindsight (in fact, the smaller set are the ones I use most often - perfect bacon flippers)
