The cardboard cylinders called Sonotubes™ provide ideal storage for moldings, long dowels, fairing battens and other odds and ends. You can attach them to ceiling joists or just stand them vertically against a wall. They come in 6" diameters and 8 foot lengths and are available from home improvement and most local hardware stores.
